The Tyco 5BI 517.050.018 is an Isolator Base that serve as a base for MX detectors, and as a protection device against short circuits on the MX addressable loop. The Tyco 5BI monitors the voltage on the loop, and when a short circuit is detected, it isolates the affected section whilst allowing the rest of the addressable loop to function normally.
